The Second Saddest Post I Have Ever Written.

As I write this post I am in complete shock that my 20 year old cat Stimpson suffered a massive seizure this morning and slipped into a coma. It seems evident he will not recover and I have made the painful decision to put him to sleep, although I am not willing to accept this at the moment, it seemed like the right thing to do. Some of you may remember it was just last year I put my 21 year old cat Taz to sleep, post here and I was not expecting this at all.  Stimpson was old for a cat and had some minor health issues but I never saw this coming and this is a very painful moment. Those with pets understand the emotional strain of losing your best friend. For us animal lovers our pets are part of our family and they mean as much to us if not more than some of the people in our families.

I’m still unsure of the main cause of Stimpsons seizures. My girlfriend and I were awoken at about 3am to Stimpson convulsing and foaming at the mouth. My girlfriend and I had just taken him to the Vet early Saturday morning to get his routine check up and blood work and the Vet gave him a clean bill of heath so this was a complete shock to me. When Stimpson started having seizures we rushed him immediately to the emergency vet and after a battery of tests that ruled out things like organ failure, toxicity or viruses it seems certain Stimpson either had a tumor or hemorrhage of the brain.

The story of Stimpson is different than that of Taz. Taz was my cat from birth to death but Stimson started out his life as my Brothers cat. In 1994 my Brother brought him to Florida as a baby kitten when he was on Spring Break. Josh, my brother left after 1 week but didn’t take Stimpson with him. About a year later Josh returns to Florida and lives with me for 2 years. When he finally moves out he takes Stimpson with him this time. So Stimpson spent the first 3 years of his life with me and my girlfriend. In 2006 Stimpson was diagnosed with a large orange sized tumor on his back. It was recommended by Vets that we put him to sleep but I rolled the dice on a risky surgery and Stimson survived it. Stimpson was then left yet again living with me and I have had him ever since, it has been 7 years now.

Just like Taz, Stimpson was always there for me like most pets are, unconditionally. Through good and bad days Stimpson was always there for me. Almost every day after the market would close Stimpson and I would take a stroll outside. He was alot like a dog because he liked to go for walks and ride in cars, something cats are not know for. We would just cruise the neighborhood flashing our style. Every morning while I was trading he would come and sit on my lap and when I took my break at 9am PST it was time for Stimp to take his break too and eat his breakfast.

We were all lucky to have had Stimpson in our lives for 20 years, that is like 100 years old for a person. Stimpson was a blessed cat with at least 56 lives. When he was 5 years old he escaped my brothers house and was attacked by an animal. He had a fractured leg and hip and a crushed nose. After a few surgeries and a permanent limp, Stimpson survived.  Also 9 years ago Stimpson escaped again from my brothers home in LA and was missing for over a month when one day he turns up on my brothers doorstep famished and beat up. He survived that too.

Stimpson was loved by many in my inner circle. he held on long enough for friends and my brother to drive down from LA before passing. Because this happened on a Sunday we all we be picking Stimpson up in the morning and taking him to the Mortuary where the rest of my pets have gone and celebrating his life. So I will not be working tomorrow. Also there will be no watchlist for Lincoln Alerts, No position review and watchlist for Lincoln Million and the 3 day stock course that was scheduled for tomorrow will be moved to Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week 1.28,29,30 2013. I will do the watchlist and position reviews Monday night.

Both trade rooms will be open Monday and I will try to get the scanners up for everyone tomorrow. We got a good group so the leaders of the room will step up and bank in my absence. I will see everyone back in the room on Tuesday Morning and I will be ready for the 3 day class then too.
