Stock Watch 9.2.11 ” Back to School”
Monday the markets will be closed in celebration of Labor Day. Over the years many Americans view this as a 3 day weekend or a chance to catch up on things they feel they have no time for during a regular week. Labor Day marks the end of summer and a time when children go back to school and real business use it as an excuse to back to work, kind of like the excuse to start a diet AFTER the new year.
We’ve come a long way in this country since the first Labor day was celebrated in 1882. Remember there was a time when a lot of Americans worked and never got paid and many of these workers died in horrible working environments while building our nations infrastructure. So the next time that lazy joker at the post office is moving at a snails pace complaining about their carpel tunnel syndrome, tell them to have some respect for our working forefathers.
