As kids it was so humiliating getting a good ole fashioned wedgie. First you never saw it coming, you were just minding your own business, flirting with the young girls on the playground then suddenly your undies are all the way up buy your shoulders.Embarrassing!
A trader wedgie is very similar but only emotionally. This is a phenomenon where you get sucked into believing a PR report or become married to a company. Then, one day you wake up and the stock is delisted or does a financing deal after hours and 50% or more of your value has disappeared. This is a trader wedgie. The only difference is there is not a group of people you know that witnessed this embarrassment, just you, and really that’s the only person that counts.
