From Chump To Champ In 3 Easy Steps

Want to improve your trading quickly? Implement the quick 3 traits and results should follow

Stop focusing on money– What! Sounds like a contradiction. After all are we not  in the trading business to get rich. The answer is yes but that is not where your focus should be. Your focus should be on your process not your money. If you focus on executing your process, following your rules and remaining  disciplined  then the money part will take care of itself. Its okay to want money and set goals accordingly but too much fixation on P/L can lead to poor trading choices. It may sound strange but ask yourself this. How many times did you get shaken out of a winning trade because you allowed your P/L to influence your decision? I know, a lot right? Focus on your process!

Worry about you– You are not here to prove yourself to the masses you are here to take care of yourself and your family. You dont have anytime to argue , BS or try to prove a point . You are not in a competition with social media traders you are in competition with yourself each day. You are not here to justify your existence or your career choices to anyone. You are here for you! If I listened to all the people who told me what they thought I should be doing with my life or what they thought about me as a person I wouldnt have accomplished anything. Live your dreams not someone elses. Besides successful people dont have the time to waste on such nonsense.

Pick one thing each day/week to work on–  If you are struggling as a trader you can certainly poke holes in your game. Some traders try to make massive changes to their trading process, their approach or other shortcomings. I like to pick one thing each day, starting with the most important , that I would like to improve on and focus on that. For example, if I feel my entries have been off I will work on that, if my exits are bad I’ll work on that. So rather than try to change 10 things at once I just narrow it down to the most important and work from there. This keeps the mind from going in to overload

Trading is a day by day venture. Stay committed to your development, strive to better yourself and your knowledge and stay grounded.

Till next time

Doug
