For over 6 years I have been teaching students the art of trading. When approached by newbies probably the first question asked is ” how much money can I make”, and with just cause . Although the possibilities of getting rich while trading in your pajamas is what led you into trading it will be your consistency that keeps you in it.
Anybody can get lucky on a few trades or have a huge month, but the traders who follow structured rules, have a defined system and focus on being consistent are the ones who survive during bear markets and uncertain times. Those traders who chase consistency rather than cash are far less likey to ” blow up ” their accounts or have sleepless nights chugging on Pepto Bismol. So ask yourself , ” What am I chasing? ” cash or consistency. Professionals know the answer.
